Easter is right around the corner, and this year feels especially exciting in our house.

This will be my daughter’s first Easter where she will really be able to participate—searching for eggs, opening a basket, and exploring the little surprises inside. Watching her grow into these traditions has made me even more excited about putting together her Easter basket this year.

As I started thinking about what to include, I realized that other moms, family members, or friends might be looking for a little inspiration too.

Whenever I’m choosing toys or gifts for my daughter, I try to find items that are not only fun but also engaging and educational. I love anything that encourages curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning.

So while doing some research—and looking through a mix of items we already own and love, along with a few things I’m planning to add to her collection—I decided to put together two simple Easter gift guides.

Why I Kept These Gift Guides Simple

I’ll be honest: while I love a good gift guide, I don’t love creating too many of them.

As a busy mom raising a toddler, creating long lists of dozens of products quickly becomes overwhelming—not only for me, but for the people reading them.

Sometimes the internet can make gift shopping feel like a never-ending scroll of options.

Instead, I prefer to keep things thoughtful and curated.

These guides include items that encourage learning, sensory play, creativity, and imaginative exploration—the types of toys that tend to stay in rotation for a long time rather than getting tossed aside after a few days.

Two Gift Guides for Growing Little Minds

To make things simple, I created two guides based on general developmental stages:

  • A gift guide for ages 1–2
  • A gift guide for ages 2–4

I also intentionally chose items that are gender-neutral and versatile, so they can work for a wide range of kids and interests.

Another thing I’ve learned as a parent is that age recommendations on toys are helpful, but they’re not always the deciding factor.

Often, we choose toys based on what our daughter is curious about in that moment.

For example, if she suddenly becomes fascinated with dinosaurs or stickers, we might pick up a dinosaur sticker book. That way she can practice fine motor skills by peeling and placing stickers while also learning about something that sparks her interest.

The goal is always the same: toys that encourage exploration, learning, and imagination.

Mix, Match, and Make It Your Own

One of my favorite things about putting together a holiday basket is that it doesn’t have to be complicated.

You can mix and match items from different age ranges, combine educational toys with creative activities, or add a small book or sensory item that encourages hands-on play.

Sometimes the simplest things—stickers, puzzles, stacking toys, or art supplies—end up being the biggest hits.

Let’s Talk Toys

If you have questions about any of the items in these guides, feel free to reach out.

There’s a good chance we already own some of them in our house, and I’m always happy to share what has worked well for us—or what my daughter keeps coming back to again and again.

Because at the end of the day, the best toys are the ones that invite our little ones to learn, imagine, and explore the world around them.

And those are the kinds of gifts that make holidays like Easter feel even more special.
